Independence girls win Braxton tournament

FLATWOODS – Harmony Mills had her fifth double-double of the season and Independence jumped out to a big lead early to win the Braxton County girls tournament.

Lacey Goodson added 14 points for Independence, which improved to 6-1.

Independence led 24-12 at the half.

Tug was led by Baelee Hall with nine and Katelyn Richardson with eight.

The Patriots return to action hosting Nicholas County Jan. 4.
