Nicholas County, Meadow Bridge, Greenbrier East post wins

Nicholas County 42, Midland Trail 33

HICO – Midland Trail had a one-point lead midway through the third quarter, but star Addie Isaacs suffered a knee injury and the Patriots never recovered.

The Patriots also had two players foul out late that hurt the home team’s chances.

Alexis O’Dell had 16 points and Adrienne Truman added 11 as the Grizzlies improved to 1-0.

Isaacs led Trail with 11 points and Rumor Barnhouse, who fouled out, added 10.

Trail (1-1) hosts Herbert Hoover Tuesday and Nicholas is at Philip-Barbour Thursday.

Meadow Bridge doubled up Liberty 22-11 in the second quarter en route to a season-opening win against Liberty.

Riley Roberts poured in 19 points, including five 3s, in the win,

Brooke Brown led the Raiders with 11 and Rhiley Honaker had 10.

Meadow Bridge hosts Craig County, Va. on Monday, Liberty hosts Sherman.
